Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
Having finished my trauma and orthopaedic training I undertook a fellowship in Lower Limb and Sports Injuries in Adelaide, South Australia. I have been a consultant in trauma and orthopaedics for 11 years with a specialist interest in the above. I provide orthopaedic services to a number of premiership and regional rugby clubs, particularly with knee injuries and have gained a lot of experience in the treatment of acute soft tissue sports injuries.
I am involved in a one in six on-call rota treating a broad spectrum of acute trauma and personal injury. On the elective orthopaedic side I treat only limb orthopaedic conditions with specialist interest in knee surgery including ligament reconstruction, articular cartilage surgery, partial, bespoke and total knee replacement.
I have performed several hundred partial knee replacements and ACL reconstructions. I have performed thousands of knee arthroscopies. I have also treated thousands of trauma patients during my training and in the last 11 years as a consultant. I am currently one of only two surgeons in Wales who offer patients the option of a customised knee replacement to suit the anatomy of your knee.
I have been clinical lead in my NHS department and support my clinical director on a local trauma and orthopaedic board. I have also been audit lead for my department. Furthermore I represent my hospital on the All Wales Training committee.
I am Honorary Clinical Tutor at Cardiff University, course convenor for a number of courses at Welsh Institute for Minimal Access Therapy (WIMAT), and Honorary Surgeon to Pontypridd RFC and Crawshays RFC.
