I graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1998 and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000. Before my rheumatology training, I undertook higher specialist training in Clinical Immunology at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and spent a period of time in Immunology research at the University of Oxford, graduating with a DPhil in 2010. I then undertook higher specialist training in rheumatology in Leeds in 2011 and have been practising as a consultant rheumatologist in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2016.
I have a broad clinical practice encompassing the wide spectrum of rheumatological disease including rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, gout and soft-tissue rheumatism. Given my significant experience in clinical immunology, I have a particular interest in the diagnostics and therapeutics of immune mediated diseases such as inflammatory muscle disease and SLE. I am also skilled in joint and soft tissue injection techniques.
I am currently the audit Lead for the department of rheumtaology in Leeds and oversee quality improvement streams.
