MBBS, MRCP, MD
My special interests are inflammatory bowel disease, helicobacter pylori and coeliac disease. I have widely published and presented pertaining to these topics. I intend to provide proficient and up-to-date management of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), unexplained diarrhoea, chronic reflux, small bowel malabsorption, bowel cancer screening, motility disorders and liver diseases.
Endoscopy has remained a passion for me and I perform it with very high skills and precision. I have performed more than 7,000 colonoscopies and have maintained coecal intubation above 92% before correction and polyp detection rate above 40%. In addition to diagnostic endoscopy I can perform luminal stenting, dilatation, variceal banding, PEG insertion, Argon Plasma Coagulation, endomucosal resection of up to and more than 2cm bowel lesions and chromoendoscopy. I am the lead for Barrett's surveillance in my trust.
I received my specialist training in the field of gastroenterology and general internal medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in the Republic of Ireland. I obtained MD following research on stomach polyps from the Trinity College University of Dublin. I did my fellowship in advanced endoscopy from the Royal London Hospital before joining the James Paget as a consultant.
