I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based at Trent Cardiac Centre, part of Nottingham University Hospitals Trust. I treat patients with both heart rhythm and general cardiology disorders. I perform all ablation procedures (Atrial fibrillation, Atrial flutter, SVT, WPW, Ventricular tachycardiac and Ventricular ectopy) and implant pacemakers and defibrillators with a particular interest in novel techniques such as conduction system pacing. The latter of which I am helping to pioneer at the Trent Cardiac Centre.
I trained at the historic Royal London and St Bartholomew’s medical school where I was awarded a distinction in clinical sciences. My Cardiology training took place in London at the prestigious Barts Heart Centre, which is the largest cardiovascular centre in Europe. After completing consultant training I gained further experience by completing a year-long fellowship in Electrophysiology at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, Canada. This fellowship involved learning new techniques employed in the ablation of arrhythmias and implantation of cardiac devices.
My track record of high academic achievement continued after medical school with the award of a PhD in 2021 for work investigating novel strategies to improve the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. This work culminated in presenting at conferences around the world and multiple research articles being published in prestigious international scientific publications.
I have a passion for medical education and regularly teach at national conferences including Heart Rhythm Congress and the British Heart Rhythm Society.
