I am Dr Ahmed Elmodir, a Consultant Oncologist with a strong focus on cancer treatment through chemotherapy and immunotherapy. My expertise lies in the management of gynaecological cancers, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer. With extensive training in oncology in the West Midlands, I was appointed as a Consultant Oncologist at University Hospital Birmingham in 2003.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to advancing the field of oncology. I have achieved notable credentials, including obtaining my MRCP in 1997 and becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology) in 2002. In recognition of my contributions, I was honoured as a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2007.
In addition to my clinical practice, I engage in research and actively serve as the principal investigator for several national trials. I have a particular interest in clinical audit, which led me to become a member of the Royal College of Radiologists' clinical oncology audit sub-committee. As an honorary senior lecturer at Birmingham University, I have the privilege of regularly teaching and sharing my knowledge in the field of Oncology.
My commitment to advancing cancer care extends beyond the walls of University Hospital Birmingham. I serve as a visiting oncologist to Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, ensuring that patients in a broader community have access to care.
