Virtual consultations:
I have been a consultant in Norwich since 2009, having trained in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Oxford and Sydney. I am the lead cardiologist for research at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and I am running a number of clinical trials looking at new treatments for patients with heart disease. In collaboration with scientists at the University of East Anglia I am leading a research programme in to the molecular triggers of heart attacks.
I specialise in treating patients with angina and heart attacks using coronary angioplasty (also known as PCI). National audits, which are publicly available, have consistently confirmed that my patients have exceptionally good outcomes following PCI. My clinical practice encompasses all aspects of adult cardiology including patients with arrhythmias, heart failure and valve disease.
I have published a textbook on echocardiography, which is used by cardiology trainees worldwide.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Alisdair Ryding at Spire include:

Consultant Cardiologist, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
I am married with three young children, so spare time is quite rare. If I get the opportunity I love playing the flute and piano, reading novels, cycling or long walks with our mad dog. I hate DIY.
