I am an established rheumatology consultant having been a consultant in Leicester since 2006. My areas of expertise are inflammatory arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, connective tissue disease, vasculitis, hypermobility, lower back pain, sciatica, neck, shoulder, wrist pain, gout, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, soft tissue rheumatology, aspiration and injections of joints and bursa.

I run specialist clinics for young adults (16-25 years old) with rheumatology conditions as well as combined rheumatology and eye service clinics and combined clinics with the kidney service at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

I graduated from Nottingham University in 1995 and completed house officer jobs in Nottingham and Taunton before taking the opportunity to work in Australia for a year in accident and emergency medicine, intensive care medicine and paediatrics.

On returning to the UK I completed postgraduate training in general medicine in Nottingham and Leicester then rheumatology specialist training in Stoke, Nottingham and Leicester before becoming a consultant in Leicester in 2006. I was head of service for rheumatology in Leicester for over six years before resigning to spend more time with my family.

I see adults and children aged 16 years and over.

I have many publications in peer review journals and I am a clinical teacher at Leicester University Medical school as well as an educational supervisor to postgraduate doctors.
