"Spire Manchester Hospital provides me with an excellent and well-equipped organisational platform to review young children with complex respiratory problems and sleep problems."
I trained overseas in Kolkata, India (MBBS and DCH), I have been in the United Kingdom for over two decades and have gained higher qualifications (FRCPCH, MMedSci and MRCP). I was trained at Bristol Children’s Hospital (where I undertook research) and Sheffield Children’s Hospital (where I undertook tertiary Specialist Grid Training).
I have also worked as a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (Paediatric Pulmonology) since 2009 at various tertiary institutions including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Leicester Children’s Hospital, and various other overseas institutions before joining Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in 2015.
I am the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Unit (UK’s largest Cystic Fibrosis unit) and have led the bronchiectasis and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) services.
I have undertaken research at RMCH, have reviewed and published in esteemed academic journals (Thorax, BMJ, Clinical Experimental Allergy, European Journal of Cystic Fibrosis), presented and chaired national and international conferences. I am closely associated with pioneering national and international organisations promoting the cause of respiratory health in children.
