I offer treatment for all types of cardiac rhythm abnormalities, ablation of simple and complex cardiac arrhythmias, pacemaker implantation including cardiac resynchronization devices and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. My particular expertise is in ablation of complex atrial arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias in adults with congenital heart disease, as well ablation of ventricular tachycardia.
I also offer assessment and treatment of patients and families affected by inherited cardiac arrhythmias, such as long QT and Brugada syndrome. I also accept general cardiology referrals.
I graduated with commendation from the University of Aberdeen medical school in 2000 and commenced training in Cardiology in Glasgow in 2003. I was awarded a British Heart Foundation Scholarship in 2004 to research the electrophysiology of the mammalian atrioventricular node, and was awarded a PhD from the University of Glasgow in 2008.
I began subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology in 2010 at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow. I then spent two years in fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing under the tutelage of internationally renowned Professor Jon Kalman in Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. I returned to the UK for my Consultant appointment at the Bristol Heart Institute in 2014.
