Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I treat a variety of conditions and my practice at the Spire Leicester Hospital will include performing targeted ultrasound-guided, fluoroscopy (X-ray) guided and intravenous lignocaine therapies. I am proficient in using ultrasound, treating a variety of different conditions, abdominal myofascial pain, pelvic pain, shoulder, elbow, hand pain, hip, knee and ankle pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), occipital headaches, migraines, back pain, and other targeted nerve injections. The use of ultrasound improves the accuracy and effectiveness of the interventions and also reduces the risk of complications.
Back pain, facet joint, sacroiliac joint, spinal stenosis and coccxydynia can be managed with directed fluoroscopy-guided injections. Abdominal pain or pelvic pain are managed with a variety of strategies; directed sympathetic nerve blocks including splanchnic, lumbar sympathetic and ganglion of impar nerve blocks are among a number of techniques I can employ.
My clinical experience includes the assessment of over 1,000 patients in the outpatient clinic and over 500 interventional treatment (injections) each year.
I graduated in 2008 from the University of Manchester, followed by training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in Birmingham and Leicester. I then underwent prestigious fellowships lasting one year each in the UK and Brisbane, Australia. I work full time at the University Hospitals of Leicester as a Consultant with a specialist interest in musculoskeletal, abdominal, chest, neck, cancer pain and widespread pain disorders (ie fibromyalgia).
I have been appointed as the Regional Advisor for the East Midlands Deanery for Pain medicine. I also Chair pain management for the chronic pancreatitis multidisciplinary team. I have an honorary contract with the LOROS hospice in Leicester and perform a variety of pain management strategies to improve the quality of life for palliative care patients. My aim is to provide an improvement in pain whilst maintaining a holistic approach to their condition.
