Dr Dipak Mukherjee

I am consultant physician at Spire Hartswood private hospital in Brentwood, Essex, offering private general medical care in our clean and comfortable private hospitals.

I see patients with a wide range of problems involving the respiratory system - ranging from chest infections, tumours, asthma, COPD and interstitial lung disease.

In my NHS work, I am clinical lead for COPD, tuberculosis, pleural disease, oxygen and EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre in Basildon. I also have an interest in bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy and lung cancer and work closely with the cardiothoracic surgeons at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.

I have been working at Basildon University Hospital as a consultant chest physician since 2001. Before this I trained in Manchester, including the Heart Lung Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital.

I won the national Hospital Doctor award for COPD in 2005 and have won a chief executive’s gold award in my NHS hospital for excellent clinical commitment.
