I have been a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes since 2004 with particular expertise in pituitary disease, thyroid disease, complex diabetes including technology. My interests are in hypoglycaemia, glycaemic control, weight management and general endocrinology. I am a member of the King's College pituitary MDT.
I have worked as a lecturer at King's College Hospital where I completed my MD thesis in hypoglycaemia and brain glucose metabolism and have published papers in international journals and presented my findings in the US and Europe.
In my consultant role at Frimley Park I developed many of the subspecialist services such as the diabetic foot service, diabetes inpatient team and pituitary links with Kings College London.
I have recently moved to King Edward Hospital, Windsor to develop the diabetes service there and continue my work with the Frimley Diabetes ICS to improve diabetes care in the community.
My work for the Diabetes ICS includes developing new services, implementing NICE guidance, working with primary care and public health to reduce variation in standards of care and monitoring performance against targets for diabetes care.
At King Edward Hospital I am the clinical lead responsible for re-organising the service and delivering high standards of clinical care for our patients and teaching healthcare professionals.
I am also an honorary member of the King's College pituitary MDT.

MBB, MD, FRCP / Royal Free Hospital, University of London / 1992
MBBS is qualification to practice as a doctor in the UK. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) course is a postgraduate degree in medicine. Fellows of the RCP are distinguished consultants and are given the honour of using the FRCP (Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians).
MD was awarded for research into hypoglycaemia and brain function from Kings College London.

Outside work I enjoy sport - playing netball, tennis and go running. I also love gardening, watching cricket and football, reading and long walks in the country.
