I have been a Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist for 10 years, working at Addenbrooke’s Hospital for the past 7 years and additionally at Moorfields Eye Hospital for the past 5 years. Addenbrooke's is recognised as a specialist centre for uveitis and I receive both local and regional referrals.
Prior to this I worked as a consultant in uveitis and medical retina at the Birmingham and Midland eye center in central Birmingham, where I oversaw the management of patients with macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions as well as managing uveitis, inflammatory eye disease and Behcet uveitis. I undertook specialist training at Bristol Eye hospital for 6 years, and also completed fellowships in ocular oncology, diabetic retinopathy and uveitis.
I have significant experience in medical retina, uveitis and neuro-ophthalmology and am one of a small number of specialist medical ophthalmologists in the UK.
I see patients with general eye complaints, visual symptoms, dry eye and medical retina problems as well as patients requiring more specialist input, including inflammatory eye disease, uveitis, thyroid eye disease and systemic disease of the eye. I am fully trained in the use of immunosuppression and biologic therapies for ocular and orbital inflammation.
