I have been working in the Dermatology field for nine years, and as a Consultant Dermatologist for the past four years. I developed an interest in Oncodermatology; a branch of Dermatology that focuses on supportive management of cancer treatment side effects that affect the skin, hair and nails aiming to improve quality of life and prevent unnecessary interruptions in cancer treatment

I set up and have successfully run for the past two years at UCLH an Oncodermatology Clinic for patients with haematological malignancies. I also have an interest in Immunobullous (blistering) conditions, psoriasis, eczema and skin cancer. I am currently undertaking a research project on acne, a chronic condition that carries a significant psychological impact, and I recently set up an Acne Clinic where I address the complex medical needs of patients with acne.

I perform minor skin surgery and in particular skin biopsies, simple excisions, curettage and cautery and triamcinolone (steroid) injection for keloid scars and alopecia (hair loss).

Over a nine-year period in my NHS practice, I have performed more than 2,000 minor skin procedures. In particular, to date I performed over 700 simple excisions, over 900 punch biopsies, over 300 curettage and cautery and over 300 shave biopsies. I also did over 50 steroid injections for keloid scars and alopecia (hair loss).

I work closely with the medical school, coordinating medical student teaching, as well as medical student allocation to Dermatology Clinics.
