Dr Fathima Mahomed

Consultant Acute General Paediatrician

MBBCh, (BAO), FRCPCh

"Spire London East Hospital is close to where I live, so I'm happily and quickly available to my patients when they need me!"

I'm a Consultant Acute General Paediatrician with 25 years of Paediatric experience. I am able to see same day appointments as well as look after children with more long-term (chronic) issues like asthma, eczema and constipation.

Working with and treating children brings a smile to my face on a daily basis. I believe that children need a friendly face, friend, doctor and Paediatrician right from the beginning of their lives. I offer you and your child, health surveillance, acute care when a child is unwell, discussing your general concerns and also years of Paediatric input into your child's life as they grow happily and healthily. My aim is to be a holistic known part of your family and a friendly face your child will grow to know and trust throughout their childhood.

I see all Paediatric patients from birth through to their eighteenth birthday. I am able to treat most common problems and acute issues and if I see a child who needs a more specialised colleague to see them, I refer the patient to a suitably qualified individual.

I have trained and worked in several busy London hospitals - to name a few, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, University College London Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital. I worked at The Royal London Hospital for seven years as an Acute Consultant General Paediatrician, prior to this, until March 2017. I have been the Clinical Lead in General Paediatrics for one year, as well as being named Doctor for Child protection for seven years and also the shared care Doctor for Paediatric Rheumatology for three years.

My passions are rambling and long distance walking, swimming, cooking (and eating) and my family!
