MBBS FRCP FRCPE
I am passionate in providing a patient-centred, cost-effective, comprehensive and holistic cardiac assessment. After graduation and post-graduation in General Medicine in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, I migrated to the United Kingdom for higher training in Cardiology in 1998. Over the past 20 years I have practiced cardiology at different levels and was based in Glasgow until February 2001.
Most of my subsequent higher training and practice was at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and I did some additional training at Bedford Hospital's Catheterisation Lab and short training at the busy Harefield Hospital Cardio Thoracic ITU and Electrophysiology Unit.
I championed multiple service developments that include heart failure service development in secondary and primary care, myocardial perfusion imaging - a way of functional assessment towards revascularisation, specialist heart failure clinics and most recently cardiac CT services at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, through joint working with Radiology. I continue to work closely with Luton CCG to further improve heart failure services in the region.
I have a keen interest in teaching and training junior doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff. I also give lectures at patient support group meetings.
I am a qualified advance life support instructor, and have special non-clinical interests in the promotion of safeguarding vulnerable adults. I've had good exposure to multi-centre researches through co-investigator, audits (clinical and non-clinical) guideline development and pathway writing.
