I have been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at East Surrey Hospital for two years and have a special interest in gastrointestinal (GI) and liver disease management. I specialise in all aspects of gastroenterology including irritable bowel syndrome, functional GI disturbances, liver dysfunction and fatty liver, inflammatory bowel disease and patients with nutritional needs. My gastroenterology training took place in hospitals in South West London since 2005 including St George's Hospital and the Liver Unit at King's College Hospital.
I have special interests in all aspects of liver disease management including viral hepatitis, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver, and rare liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, and hemochromatosis. I trained in the Liver Unit at King's College Hospital in London between 2014 and 2016 and took time out from training to undertake research in viral hepatitis in St George's University of London.
I am JAG-certified for performing diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy. I have performed more than 1,000 colonoscopies, near 2,000 gastroscopies and over 400 flexible sigmoidoscopies. I am proficient in all aspects of endoscopy including polyp removal and surveillance, chromo endoscopy assisted colonoscopic surveillance in inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer and variceal bleeding management. I also provide local out of hours GI bleed service.
I am the lead clinician for departmental audit and responsible for leading the departmental morbidity and mortality meeting.
I have been awarded an MD by the University of London for my research work in liver diseases (viral hepatitis).

I am the clinical audit lead for morbidity and mortality (M&M) in the Gastroenterology Department at East Surrey Hospital.
I have research interest in viral hepatitis and have been awarded a MD. The tile of my thesis is 'The identification of liver disease in e-antigen negative chronic hepatitis B (CHB) subjects and optimising screening for CHB in the community'.

I enjoy cycling and running. Most of my spare time is spent with my family exploring the beautiful British countryside. I have three energetic boys who are fantastic company and provide my husband and I with constant entertainment and inspiration.
