BSC, DClin Psychol, AFBPsS
I have enjoyed working in both clinical and clinical research posts for more than 25 years and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Liverpool in 2004. I provide assessment and psychological therapy using evidence based models of therapy.
An area of specialism is clinical health psychology; supporting people when psychological difficulties are linked to dealing with physical illness. I have extensive experience working in cancer care and I am a member of the extended Breast MDT at Murrayfield Hospital; working closely with nursing, surgical and oncology colleagues.
I also provide specialist psychological intervention for trauma related issues, including the psychological effects of childhood trauma.
As well as these areas of specialism, I see people with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, work stress and burnout.
I have carried out and published research in clinical health psychology. At the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, I led the development of a new clinical psychology service in Breast services . While there, I was also appointed as Macmillan Principal Clinical Psychologist & Research Lead in a broader psychology service for people affected by cancer.
I am HCPC registered, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
