I am a Consultant Nephrologist specialising in kidney diseases. I provide private medical care at Spire London East Hospital in Redbridge and Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex. I received my medical training in Khartoum, where I also completed my house jobs at Khartoum University Hospital. I then pursued advanced training in General Medicine and Nephrology at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, gaining significant experience in clinical practice, research, and teaching. I later served as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
In 1997, I was appointed as a Consultant Nephrologist and Physician at Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Additionally, I hold honorary consultant roles at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health, and i'm a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.
I have an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed medical journals. My research interests focus on muscle weakness and fatigue in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), which earned me a MD research degree from the University of Liverpool. I have pioneered the concept of "uraemic sarcopenia," emphasising the problem of muscle wasting in CKD patients. I am also an active manuscript reviewer for various medical journals and I serve on the editorial boards of the Arab and African Associations of Nephrology journals.
My practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of a wide range of acute and chronic kidney conditions, with an emphasis on preventing or slowing the progression of kidney disease
I founded a charity to support medical education and research in Sudan, reflecting my commitment to advancing global healthcare
