I specialise in General Cardiology and I have a sub-specialty interest in coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), echocardiography and trans-oesophageal echocardiography. I have been in Private Practice since 2007.
I obtained my medical degree from Bristol University in 1993 and subsequently trained in general and interventional cardiology in the UK and New Zealand, working in four interventional centres. I was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in 2006 to set up a new, local angioplasty service. This commenced in October 2008 and now provides a highly regarded service to over 1,000 patients per year. As a National Heart Research Fund fellow, I completed my MD at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and the University of Warwick in 2002. I am a BSE accredited echocardiographer.
I am now the Divisional Medical Director for Specialty Medicine at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and I also hold the post of NHS England Cardiac Lead for the West Midlands.
