MBBS, FRCP
I have been a Consultant Respiratory Physician for over 10 years, working at Basildon University Hospital. Prior to that, I completed five years of general (internal) medicine and respiratory medicine training in the London deanery. I have a passion for patient-centred care and have a particular interest in unexplained breathlessness and chronic cough.
I specialise in treating a range of respiratory symptoms including breathlessness, cough and wheeze. My clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, snoring and sleep apnoea, lung nodules, pleural effusions (fluid around the lungs) and lung cancer. My special interests include chronic cough, airways diseases, sleep-disordered breathing, conditions of the lining of the lungs (pleural diseases) and lung cancer. I am an accomplished interventional pulmonologist with expertise in bronchoscopy and other advanced interventional procedures.
I have performed > 1,000 bronchoscopic procedures including flexible bronchoscopy and more advanced endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy with needle aspirations (EBUS-TBNA). I have performed >500 pleural procedures including aspirations, chest drain insertions including indwelling pleural catheter.
