I work as a consultant respiratory physician with specialist interests in bronchiectasis, respiratory infection (including TB, Aspergillus, and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease) and airway diseases. I manage all aspects of general respiratory medicine including cough and shortness of breath. I was appointed to my consultant position in 2012.
I qualified from the Royal Free and University College London medical school in 2000. I completed training in respiratory and general medicine in the South East region working at King's College Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, Guys and St Thomas' as well as hospitals on the south coast. I spent three years at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London and the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust where I took part in research in cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis as well as gaining specialist clinical experience in that field.
I am committed to teaching and training, holding a number of senior educational leadership positions both for undergraduate students and I am the training programme director for respiratory medicine post graduate training in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
I was selected to the British Thoracic Society Council and sit on their education and training committee. I also hold the position of the Royal College of physicians specialist advisor in Kent, Surrey and Sussex for respiratory medicine.

My main research interests are in lung function testing and respiratory infection. I have presented and published in these areas. I am involved in clinical trials in respiratory medicine.
