I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a special interest in Hepatology. I graduated from Imperial College in 2002 with double distinctions and prizes before completing junior doctor rotations in London.
My interests within Gastroenterology include Endoscopy including gastroscopy, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy, Dyspepsia, heartburn, reflux disease, peptic ulcers, Inflammatory bowel disease, Irritable bowel syndrome, Coeliac disease, Unexplained abdominal pain and Gastrointestinal cancer.
My interests within Hepatology include Investigation of abnormal liver blood tests, Fatty liver disease, Haemochromatosis and raised iron levels, Autoimmune liver disease including PBC and PSC, Alcoholic liver disease, Cirrhosis, Viral hepatitis and Liver tumours.
I have undertaken extensive specialty training on the NW Thames rotation, including Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. In 2009 I was awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship and undertook a period of research at the Department of Hepatology, St Mary’s Hospital, London. I was also awarded a PhD from Imperial College in 2013.
I have presented my work at national and international meetings, along with publications in high-impact journals. I maintains a research interest and is the Principle Investigator for several clinical trials.
