I qualified at the University of Edinburgh, with subsequent broad postgraduate gastroenterology and hepatology specialist training in London at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and University College Hospital. I completed training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital.
I pursued sub-specialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998-1999), and now provide a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service, as well as being active in endoscopy training in my role as both Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general gastroenterology. I am an examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.
I spent a further period of extended research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000-2003), completing my MD thesis in hepatitis/liver disease, presenting and publishing widely in this field. I am currently BCF Trust Lead in hepatology, and run a broad liver and pancreatobiliary service with a dedicated hepatitis treatment clinic.
I am an accredited specialist with a large NHS and private practice devoted to the full range of gastroenterology including IBS, IBD, hepatology, pancreatobiliary disease, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
