Specialises in
I have been a Consultant Dermatologist since 1998, after training in cancer medicine then subsequently training in dermatology in Sheffield. I have the higher degree (MD) for a thesis on allergy. I am a national expert in male genital skin disease.
My NHS position and private practice enables me to see the full range of dermatological problems. I also train and supervise dermatology trainees and have a keen interest in medical education.
I treat adults for the entire range of skin, hair and nail conditions, particularly skin cancer and male genital skin problems as well as a full range of allergy testing. I also test for metal allergy in patients who have possible problems with joint replacements. I perform dermatological surgery and diagnostic skin biopsies. Skin checking (for cancer) is becoming a large part of my work with the dramatic rise in skin cancer in the UK.
I have a keen interest in teaching both nationally and internationally. I have published two textbooks and have written dozens of research articles on a wide range of dermatological conditions such as contact allergy, hand dermatitis, antibiotic resistance and quality of life in elderly people with skin disease.
