I am a Consultant Neurologist working at University Hospitals of Leicester. I have expertise in a range of neurological disorders including headaches, pain management and blackouts.
I specialise in headache disorders (migraine), movement disorders, neuromuscular (muscle and nerve), neuro-ophthalmology (eye movements, idiopathic intracranial hypertension), pain management, multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy, ataxia and neurogenetics.
I studied Medicine at the University of Birmingham as a post-graduate and trained in various hospitals in both East and West Midlands. I trained in neuromuscular diseases at the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Centre in Newcastle and studied for a Masters in Genomic Medicine at Queen Mary, University of London. I completed my PhD in Cambridge, studying genetic ataxias. I have received various prizes and fellowships throughout my training, including the Institute of Biomedical Science President's Prize as the top-performing student in my BSc(Hons) studies and the Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust Clinical Research Fellowship.
I am the clinical lead for the genetic ataxia service in Leicester.
