I am a Consultant Physician in General Internal Medicine. I qualified in medicine from Sri Lanka’s Colombo University, while playing First Class cricket. After training posts at Enfield, Northampton and Southampton University I was appointed Consultant at North and East Herts NHS Trust. In 2014 I moved into private practice full-time.
As an acute physician taking unselected medical admissions, I gained broad clinical experience in diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical conditions in adults over 18 years. I see patients with all types of general medical problems, including acute illnesses.
My sub-specialty interests within general internal medicine include acute medical illnesses, geriatric medicine, infections, TIAs, respiratory illnesses, hypertension, giddiness and blackouts, memory problems and dementias.
Within the Trust I have been; Clinical Director, Chairman of Trust Drugs and Therapeutics Committee and Medical Lead in Trust Ethics Committee.
Many clinician colleagues, staff members and GPs seek out myself for my clinical opinion. I make myself available, admit patients and see outpatients routinely and, when urgent/necessary, the same day.
