I trained at Guy’s Hospital, qualifying in 1987. After junior posts in Brighton, Birmingham and Worcester I started Radiology training on the St George’s Hospital rotation in London in 1991. I trained at many centres of excellence including the Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital.

In April 2003, I was appointed as Medical Director of the Sussex Cancer Network, an organisation that coordinates planning and delivery of cancer services across Sussex.
I sit on many committees including the Cancer Advisory Board, responsible for planning and delivering cancer services nationally. In 2008, I was an advisor to the Swedish government when they wrote their Cancer Plan.
