Dr Olga Khvorostova

GP

MBBS, MRCGP, DFSRH, DRCOG, DOHNS, BMS Adv. Cert. (Menopause Care)

I graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2009 and began my medical career specialising in ENT (ear, nose, and throat) surgery, earning the Diploma in Otolaryngology and head and neck surgery (DOHNS). In 2019, I transitioned to General Practice and have since worked as an NHS GP in South Liverpool.

I am committed to and have gained a wealth of experience in managing the full breadth of health concerns within the scope of general practice. Alongside general practice, I have a particular passion for women’s health, where I have pursued extensive additional training. I hold diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH). I am skilled in contraception and family planning, including fitting coils and sub-dermal implants.

During my time at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, I developed a strong interest in menopause medicine, earning the British Menopause Society Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. I am passionate about helping women navigate the challenges of menopause and am happy to assist with any related concerns or symptoms.

I believe in treating patients as whole individuals, integrating physical health, mental well-being, and lifestyle factors into personalised care plans. I focus on empowering patients with knowledge, involving them in decision-making, and fostering sustainable health improvements. Helping patients achieve their health goals and build healthier, more fulfilling lives is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy countryside walks, music, and the arts. My husband and I have two young children, and parenthood has deepened my connection to the community. Recently, my family and I spent a year in Japan, immersing ourselves in a new culture and gaining invaluable experiences that continue to shape my professional and personal perspectives.
