I am a UK trained consultant cardiologist and my extensive training has nurtured expertise in all aspects of general cardiology. I was appointed as a consultant in Hampshire Hospitals in 2021 and I have a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment chest pain and/or breathlessness. My patient's interests are at the heart of all my clinical decisions and I am a firm believer in managing patients in the same way as I would want my own family to be treated.
I am highly trained in tackling complex coronary disease and also perform the highest volume of angioplasty procedures at Hampshire Hospitals. I run NHS and private clinics leading management in all aspects of general cardiology from initial symptoms / diagnosis to definitive treatments. This includes: chest pain, coronary angiography and stenting, breathlessness, palpitations and heart rhythm disturbances including pacemakers and electrical cardioversions, dizziness/blackouts, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart failure and fluid retention, heart murmurs and cardiovascular disease prevention.
I regularly perform a range of cardiac procedures such as diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty / stenting, pacemaker and loop recorder implants. These take place at the brand new catheter lab suite at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
To date, I have performed more than 2,000 diagnostic coronary angiogram procedures and more than 1,000 heart stenting procedures. Due to my extensive experience and ability at treating tricky cases, I am the go-to person for these at Hampshire Hospitals. I have re-written some of the local emergency guidelines for heart attacks and chest pain management at Hampshire hospitals. I am also heavily involved in the day to day running of our state-of-the-art catheter labs were patients like you will be treated if a procedure is required.
I have had extensive experience researching the cutting edge of structural and coronary cardiology procedures. My contributions include more than 25 peer reviewed publications. My research experience has additionally given me expertise in both intra-coronary imaging (looking inside the heart arteries) and also the management of symptomatic severely narrowed or blocked arteries.
