"I have a vision to provide healthcare with a human touch. Spire facilitates that. We offer state-of-the-art cardiac MRI facilities to help make the most accurate diagnosis and plan treatment."
I am Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine and Consultant Cardiologist, performing and leading the development of advanced ways to image the heart by heart MRI scans and echocardiography for the last 14 years in the UK. I personally supervise stress heart MRI for diagnosing any coronary artery disease or cause of chest pain. At Spire Norwich Hospital, I provide combined anatomy, function, flow, scar and perfusion heart MRI assessment. This is a one-stop test for anyone with possible heart related symptoms.
I use the most cutting-edge methods to accurately diagnose heart disease and precisely monitor the treatment progress by imaging. I am also the world leader in advanced methods to image the flow inside the heart by cutting-edge technologies like four-dimensional flow MRI imaging (4D flow MRI).
Heart MRI is a non-invasive test, which involves no radiation and help to diagnose several heart diseases including the cause of chest pain. It is also the gold-standard method for the assessment of the heart’s function, and used to assess the flow and scar on the heart muscle. A heart MRI scan is becoming an important test for patients presenting with shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, collapse and with any previous complex heart disease.
My ambition is to discover and advance a better understanding of the interface between the flow in the heart and how heart adapts to it. I have received 15 national / international awards and have published >125 peer-reviewed papers. I currently lead a major Wellcome Trust funded research at the University of East Anglia with national and international collaborators. I am Level III qualified by both the American and the European Boards for performing advanced Heart MRI scans in adults.
