BSc (Hons), MBBS, MD, MRCP
My main clinical interest is myocardial ischemia (a condition where blood flow to the heart is reduced) and it’s treatment with percutaneous coronary intervention. My specialist interest is complex coronary intervention including rotablation and chronic coronary artery occlusions.
On a day to day basis I see patients with a wide range of common heart problems including: chest pain, high blood pressure, heart failure, valvular heart disease, referrals for investigation of palpitations and collapse, cardiovascular risk assessment, and perioperative cardiac assessment.
I qualified from Guys and St Thomas’ in 2001 and undertook my specialist training in the South West London Cardiology training scheme. Prior to my appointment as the Interventional Fellow at St Georges Hospital, I was a research fellow at the MRC Clinical Science Centre at Hammersmith Hospital and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from Imperial College in 2012 for my work on myocardial blood flow measurement using cardiac MRI and positron emission tomography. In March 2017 I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP).
In 2013 I spent a year in Sydney working with Professor David Muller at St Vincents Hospital and gained further experience in complex interventional and structural cardiology. I was appointed as a full time substantive consultant at Frimley Health NHS trust in January 2015 and work across site at Frimley Park, Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals.
I am the Cardiology Clinical lead for mortality and morbidity at Wexham Park Hospital and work closely with other members of the mortality review group to improve patient safety.
In addition to my clinical practice, I have contributed to research, having published numerous peer-reviewed medical articles and original papers in the field of structural cardiology and coronary artery disease imagining. I am an appointed fellow of the Royal College Physicians, and member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and the British Medical Association.
