BA (Oxon), BMBCh (Oxon), MRCP (Neuro), PhD (Edin)
I am a consultant neurologist (brain doctor) working at Spire Southampton. I am a general neurologist, meaning I have expertise in diagnosing and looking after patients with any neurological condition. This includes headache, migraine, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, functional neurological disorder, and many more conditions.
I specialise in treating neuro-inflammatory disorders of the brain and spinal cord, including multiple sclerosis (MS) and other white matter disorders of the brain, and have a specialist MS clinic in Southampton General Hospital. I also have a specialist interest in other neuro-inflammatory disorders, where the brain/spinal cord is attacked by the immune system by mistake.
I trained at the University of Oxford, before moving to Edinburgh to complete my neurology training. During my time in Edinburgh, I developed a research interest in neuro-inflammatory conditions, gaining a PhD, and completing a prestigious internship with the National Institutes of Health in Washington DC. I then moved home to Hampshire in 2021 to take up a Consultant Neurologist post at Southampton General Hospital, looking after patients from Wessex and the surrounding regions.
