MBBS, MA (Cantab), PhD
I have been working as a Consultant Cardiologist since 2019 as a Cardiologist with an interest in cardiovascular imaging. I am also an associate professor in the University of Leeds leading a research group using cutting edge cardiac MRI technology to improve patient care in a variety of conditions including patients with coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure and sports cardiology.
I specialise in the use of cardiac MRI to detect subtle changes in the heart that might not be detected by other imaging techniques. My research in this field is internationally recognised and I have published more than 100 papers about cardiac MRI. I have expertise in the diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of symptoms including chest pain, breathlessness and palpitations.
I also lead sports cardiology research in the University of Leeds where I am conducting research into understanding abnormal heart rhythms in experienced athletes. I have experience of treating athletes of all abilities with pre-existing or newly diagnosed cardiac conditions.
