I am currently a Consultant Gastroenterologist, Endoscopist and Hepatologist at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
I am experienced in managing luminal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic complaints including cancer diagnosis and screening; abdominal pain; gastro-oesophageal reflux disease; altered bowel habit; rectal bleeding; irritable bowel syndrome; inflammatory bowel disease; deranged liver function tests and all forms of liver disease including viral hepatitis. This is complimented by diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including removal of polyps or pre-cancerous lesions.
Previously I was a consultant in Kent, where I also held the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, King's College, London. I qualified from Cambridge University in 1999. I trained in gastroenterology and hepatology on the South-West Thames rotation including in tertiary centres in London, such as St. George's Hospital, the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. I also completed doctorate research at University College, London. Before taking up a consultant post I completed an endoscopy fellowship at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia.
I am the British Society of Gastroenterology Clinical Services and Standards Representative for the South-East England. I am also the Royal College of Physicians Regional Advisor for the South-East.
