MD FRCA FFPMRCA FIPP CIPS
"Excellent diagnostic scanning facilities, specialist physiotherapy services, understanding staff, safe clinical areas and interventional suites make for a very professional atmosphere."
I have been a consultant pain physician since 2010 and my clinical practice includes: precision diagnosis and evidence based management of spinal back pain and sciatica; whiplash injuries and neck pain; cervicogenic headache and occipital neuralgia; neuropathic pain; osteoarthritis joint pain; chronic post surgical pain following spine; hip and knee operations; chronic pelvic and coccyx pain; plus, ultrasound guided platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapies in carefully selected indications.
I perform image guided fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided interventions to include: spinal facets medial branch radiofrequency denervation; spinal therapeutic epidural injections; pulsed radiofrequency neuromodulation of nerves; shoulder, hip and knee joints; tendons and bursa injections; foot plantar fascia injections; sensory radiofrequency ablation of hip and knee joints in those who cannot have replacements and also who already have joint replacements but still in persistent pain and post spinal surgery epiduroplasty.
I trained at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital and my NHS base is Medway NHS Trust. My private practice reflects my NHS work and it involves precision diagnosis and evidence-based treatments. I specialise in chronic pain conditions involving the spine, nerves, joints, nerves muscles, tendons, soft tissues and all my interventions are image guided. Based on my logbook portfolio over a period of 10 years I have conducted around 500 pain assessments and injections every year – I have performed all my interventions with image guidance and emphasis on safe clinical practice.
I am the clinical lead for orthopaedic and trauma anaesthesia at Medway NHS Foundation Trust and educational supervisor for advanced pain training fellowship programme at Medway NHS Foundation Trust.
