I have special interest in treating upper gastroenterology conditions with swallow difficulty. I treat and manage large cohort of complex inflammatory bowel disease patients. I am one of the leading consultants in dealing with endoscopic dilatation of complex oesophageal strictures and oesophageal stent insertion in my trust.
My clinical practice covers a broad range of gastroenterological issues including abdominal pain, dyspepsia, indigestion, difficulty swallowing, acid reflux, heart burn, nausea, vomiting, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, bleeding from gastrointestinal tract, changes in bowel habit, IBS including ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease, liver dysfunction, anaemia, weight loss and suspected gastrointestinal cancer.
I perform both diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy. To date, I have performed numerous gastroscopy, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. I am an accredited endoscopy trainer.
I am a NHS full-time gastroenterology Consultant in University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire. I completed my higher specialty training in gastroenterology and hepatology from West Midlands Deanery rotation. I had dual accreditation in General medicine and Gastroenterology. Following my higher specialty training (CCT), I did one year of an advanced endoscopy fellowship at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire.
I lead the upper gastrointestinal tract cancer pathway in my trust. I am one of the core members of upper gastrointestinal multidisciplinary team for cancer service in
Coventry. I am one of the members of IBD MDT also actively participate in decision making of complex inflammatory bowel disease patients in my trust.
In addition to my clinical work , I also enjoy teaching. I have taken responsibility of leading teaching programme for higher specialty gastroenterology trainees in West Midland Deanary. I am one of the responsible educational and clinical supervisors of medical students and junior doctors.
I have been awarded the fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of London in 2021. I have recently been recognised as PACES examiner for MRCP part 2 clinical examination by Royal College of Physicians.
I am a good listener. I am multilingual and speaks English, Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu fluently. My aim is to deliver a comprehensive safe care with highly skilled team to obtain quick diagnosis and effective treatment to all my patients.
