I have been a Consultant Cardiologist at King George Hospital and the Bart's Heart Centre since 2018. I have a special interest in the management of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation and other causes of palpitations, but I also see patients with the full range of heart problems in my general cardiology clinics.
After graduating from UCL, I trained at world leading heart centres including Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, and Harefield Hospital.
As a heart rhythm specialist (cardiac electrophysiologist) I perform curative ablations for conditions including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ectopic beats, and accessory pathways (Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome). I also perform pacemaker implants for slow heart rhythms and implantable defibrillators (ICDs) and biventricular pacemakers (CRT) for people with heart failure.
I am actively involved in teaching and research and am an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bart's and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. I previously served on the Specialty Advisory Committee for Cardiovascular Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians which designs and oversees the delivery of cardiology training in the UK. I was a former President of the British Junior Cardiologists’ Association (BJCA) and served on the Council of the British Cardiovascular Society. I am involved in organising the European Society of Cardiology Congress - the world’s largest cardiology conference.
I am currently on the Committee for the European Society of Cardiology's Council for Stroke which looks to improve the care of heart conditions in stroke patients. I am on the editorial board for the Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Reviews Journal. I edited the book "Decoding Cardiac Electrophysiology," which is due to be released this winter.
I undertook a PhD at Imperial College which tried to understand how different types of pacemakers can help patients with heart failure. This was funded by a fellowship from the British Heart Foundation. My research was shortlisted for the Heart Rhythm Congress Young Investigator Award. I have over 30 publications in internationally recognised peer reviewed medical journals.
