I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine/ Management. I was trained in India, Ireland and England. I completed my training from Sheffield and then went on to do advanced pain training at the world-renowned Walton Centre in Liverpool. I was appointed for the post of consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospital). I am also an honorary lecturer at the University of Sheffield.
At the Pain Clinic in the Northern General Hospital, I worked within the MDT team and took initiative to start specialised clinics including one on neuropathic pain and complex regional pain syndrome. I had a keen interest in opioids management and published a review article in a peer reviewed journal. I completed clinic-based audit pertaining to interventions which was unique at the time and published in peer reviewed journals.
I now work in the independent sector and have my own clinic DRG Health Clinic for Pain Management and GP services in Doncaster. I am the chair and organiser for the South Yorkshire Pain Group. I continue to have interest in teaching and lecture to GPs on safe use and prescription of opioids and pain management. I examine medical students for OSCE examinations. I am an instructor for teaching surgical trainees how to identify and help sick surgical patients (CCRISP course). I am also an appraiser for secondary care consultants in the private sector.
I am a Chief Medical Officer for CL Medical Aid, Tier One Medco Company for small claims.
