BSc, MBBS, MRCP, PhD
I am a Consultant in Medical Oncology for over five years at Guy's and St Thomas' and King's College NHS Trusts. I am one of few cancer consultants in the country that is an expert in earlier, faster diagnosis of cancer and serious conditions.
I treat cancer patients with neuroendocrine, pancreatic, biliary, tract and small bowel tumours and offer expert advice in their management, anti-cancer treatment and subsequent follow up.
I specialise in Rapid Diagnostics Services. For the rapid diagnosis clinic I offer a comprehensive clinical assessment, followed by personalised diagnostics to help reach a diagnosis and refer onto specialist for treatment if needed or to offer reassurance if no serious cause found.
At the Guy's Rapid Diagnostic Clinic we see 120-150 patients per month and have seen over 5,000 patients since being established in 2016.
As a core member of the King's and Guy's Hepatobiliary and NET service, I am involved in oncological decisions for London, Sussex and Kent. I personally oversee over 500 NET/HPB patients a year this includes diagnosis, treatment with chemotherapy, targeted drugs, immunotherapy and clinical trials.
I am proud to be an honorary senior lecturer at King's College London.
I am Clinical Advisor to the National NHS Gallery trial using a multi-cancer early detection test. I have also been involved in running the trial in South East London through the Guy's Rapid Diagnostic Clinic.
My academic interests stem from doing a PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital. I am passionate about Real-World Evidence. This is looking at outcomes in patients treated in the real world rather than clinic trials to help establish the effectiveness of cancer treatment. We were also able to publish early about it being safe to deliver cancer treatment during the COVID pandemic.
I have published over 30 articles and have established read world databases in neuroendocrine, pancreatic, biliary and small bowel cancers as well as a national registry for rare liver tumours.
