I work as a Consultant Cardiologist at North Bristol NHS Trust and the Bristol Heart Institute. I am a general cardiologist looking after patients with all types of heart conditions including hypertension, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
My particular interest is the treatment of coronary artery disease with angioplasty and stents. I also undertake coronary angiography, pacemaker implantation and echocardiography.
My research interests include optimisation of angioplasty results and I have published several papers in the field of interventional and general cardiology. I have written a book, Understanding High Blood Pressure (publication date April 2015).
I have a leading role in medical teaching through Bristol University and also work for the DVLA as a medical advisor for fitness to drive.
