I undertook my undergraduate studies at the University of Manchester before moving onto King's College Hospital, London for my postgraduate training.
Following admission to the Royal College of Physicians by examination I was awarded a British Heart Foundation Research Fellowship and moved to St George's Hospital Medical School, London, to undertake research into the various triggers and substrates responsible for one of the most common heart rhythm disturbance encountered in clinical practice, namely Atrial Fibrillation (AF).
Following the award of my PhD, I undertook my training in general cardiology on the South Thames, Kent, Surrey, Sussex Specialist Registrar Rotation with appointments at St Thomas and King's College hospitals before moving to Glenfield Hospital in 2008.
For two years at Glenfield, I undertook specialist training in cardiac electrophysiology involving catheter ablation treatment of various heart rhythm disturbances including AF and implanting of simple pacemakers for slow heart rhythm disturbances and complex pacing devices for heart failure.

I enjoy various sporting activities and captained my high school cricket team before playing squash for my University team. I also enjoy watching football. I live with my wife and we both enjoy travelling very much having recently visited the Far East, Middle East and Southern Africa.
