I started my career in medicine in 1987 in Mumbai, India. I have worked in Tata Memorial Cancer Institute as an anaesthetist and as a lecturer in Grant Medical College before commencing my higher specialist training in the UK.

I was one of the first trainees from Wales to undertake the advanced pain medicine training and have been awarded the FFPMRCA. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a member of the faculty of Pain Medicine and British Pain Society. I also feature on the specialist register of the GMC.

I have been working as a consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the University Hospital of Wales since 2010.

I am competent in dealing with a wide range of chronic pain conditions like back pain, post-surgical pain, CRPS Complex regional pain syndrome, neuropathic pain etc. I can offer medication management and interventions like Acupuncture, spinal x-ray guided injections, nerve blocks, Ultrasound guided injections, epidurals and radio frequency denervation for pain management.

I am actively involved in medical education and am the pain medicine educational supervisor at UHW.

I currently lead the only Qutenza treatment clinic in South Wales.

My other interests are developing patient information leaflets for various pain interventions.
