I trained in respiratory and general (internal) medicine in Yorkshire. I have broad based and varied experience of respiratory medicine. My experience of respiratory medicine includes management of all aspects of conditions such as asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, chronic cough and sleep apnoea. My subspecialty interests include chronic persistent cough, sleep apnoea and pulmonary vascular disease. I have an interest in the management of sleep apnoea and have looked at the association between these two common conditions as well.
My main area of research is chronic cough and towards this I have completed a higher medical research degree on this subject. I am an expert in this field and have published and presented my research at national and international meetings.
I am involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. I thoroughly enjoy my clinical practice in respiratory medicine as well as teaching and research.

Born in India, I am now settled in Hull with my wife and two children. My interests include travelling, middle distance running and tennis. I am also a keen gardener. I like to spend most of my spare time with my family and friends.
