I have been a consultant in general (internal) medicine, diabetes and endocrinology at St Helier Hospital since 1994.
My specialist interests are in all complications of diabetes, particularly the problem of diabetes in pregnancy, and also thyroid disease. I attend the weekly multi-disciplinary thyroid clinic at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
Undergraduate training: I graduated in medicine from University College Hospital in London with MB BS (Hons).
Postgraduate training: My specialist training was at Hammersmith Hospital, where I obtained my MD (University of London, 1990) and St George's Hospital, London.
Since obtaining an MBA (Hons) at the University of Surrey in 1996, I have held various management positions and am currently clinical director (specialty medicine) and director of research and development in the Trust. I also graduated with an MA (Bioethics) (Hons) in 2006 from the University of Surrey. I remain active in clinical research.
Conditions treated: Diabetes including new patients, diabetes reviews, young person’s clinic (including dedicated insulin pump clinics), antenatal clinic (with obstetrician), diabetes foot clinics, diabetes renal clinic (with nephrologist). All adult endocrine disorders (including adrenal, thyroid, pituitary and gonadal disease).
