MBBS, MD, MD, FRCP
I was a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital before moving to Leicester in 2012. I have specialist interests in Barrett’s oesophagus, reflux disease, gastric problems, early cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and pancreatic and biliary diseases. I am an advanced endoscopist and am an expert in endoscopic ultrasound.
I completed my basic medical training in Scotland. I completed my gastroenterology training from Cambridge in 2010 and had further training in endoscopic ultrasound and in advanced endoscopy at Nottingham. I visited Medical University of South Carolina as endoscopy fellow of British Society of Gastroenterology. I completed my three years of research and MD in 2010 from MRC at Cambridge. My work was on a new screening test called ‘cytosponge test’ for a pre-cancerous condition called Barrett’s oesophagus.
Since 2015 I have been the Lead of Endoscopic Ultrasound and in 2017, in Japan, I obtained advanced endoscopic skills in the management of early gastrointestinal cancers.
Spire Leicester Hospital has excellent diagnostic facilities and expert gastrointestinal radiologists and pathologists. There are up to date endoscopy services. Endoscopies can be performed with sedation or under general anaesthesia. The comfortable and tranquil outpatients area allow me to perform personal and in-depth consultations.
I am continuing my research interests in early oesophageal, gastric and pancreatic cancers.
