"The facilities at Spire's hospitals are very good, the staff are friendly and supportive, making it an absolute pleasure to work here."

After completing higher specialist training in the Mersey Deanery, I have worked as a consultant for the last seven years. Having amassed a valuable clinical experience in the management of a variety of endocrine and general medicine disorders and written several guidelines and pathways to patient management. I've also been a consultant representative in the West Cheshire Area Prescribing Committee (APC) panel. I have worked towards introducing new medicines, new technologies for the benefit of my patients' health, as well as presenting papers to national and international conferences.

I specialise in Adrenal disorders, bariatric (medical weight management), transgender endocrinology, chronic fatigue syndrome, hypertension, insulin pumps and diabetes technology, male and female sex hormone disorders, metabolic bone disease, pituitary disorders and thyroid disorders.

I have well over 50,000 patient-hours experience. This metric is a measure of time spent with patients with endocrine and general medical disorders, both in the outpatient and inpatient setting, since achieving CCT. This has strengthened my understanding of disease, pathophysiology and has enhanced my ability to unravel challenging disease patterns, and suggest suitable solutions.

I am the Trust Fluid champion at the Countess of Chester Hospital, having launched the Trust IV fluid policy last year.

In addition to clinical work, I also hold the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. In this role, I support the university in delivering small group learning, such as: Case-based learning (CBL), Communications for Clinical Practice (CCP), Debrief, Simulation exercises. I also assist in other important school activities such as: academic advising and research supervision for medical students, peer observation assessment, multiple mini interviews (MMIs), or additional RS projects, standard-setting and student recruitment.

I'm also a certified MRCP PACES examiner of the Royal College of Physicians.

I successfully pioneered the use of Skype technology to improve antenatal patient care and experience. This was well over two years before the onset of COVID-19. For my initiative, my antenatal team was awarded the Quality in Care (QiC) diabetes award 2019 for the category Patient Care Pathway-Adults - ‘Telemedicine in Improving Care and Outcomes, in Antenatal Diabetes Patients’.

I also received an award for Outstanding Patient Care at Countess of Chester Hospital in June 2016.
