I am a Consultant Cardiologist at the Nottingham University Hospital (NUH) and am currently the clinical director for cardiology, cardiac surgery and respiratory medicine. Prior to that I was Head of Service for Cardiology at NUH.
I have held several regional and national roles including Training Programme Director for cardiology at Heath Education East Midlands (2011-2019) and a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Physicians (2016-2019). I was the chair of the Education Committee and elected council member of the British Society of Echocardiography (2015-2017).
I trained in Cardiology at The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, and gained further experience in Cardiac Imaging from Wales Heart Research Institute and Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
I also have vast experience in general cardiology and cardiovascular imaging and my interests include assessment of ischaemic heart disease/chest pain, valve assessments and cardiomyopathies. I am passionate about teaching and have vast experience in lecturing and teaching at national and international meetings and courses. I am also the co-author of several national guidelines and have over 50 publications in various peer reviewed journals.
