BSc MPhil MBBCh (Hons) MRCP (UK)
I have been a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital since 2017. I have specific interests in the assessment and management of complex coronary artery and heart valve disease.
With extensive experience in all aspects of cardiology I see patients presenting with a wide range of symptoms. These include breathlessness, chest pain, dizzy spells, palpitations and blackouts.
I specialise in the assessment and management of patients with coronary artery disease. This includes complex coronary angioplasty utilising advanced intracoronary physiological and imaging alongside newer therapeutics such as rotational atherectomy (coronary "drilling" procedure to manage calcification).
Heart valve disease is another area of personal interest and I have extensive experience in the assessment of these patients and working within the multidisciplinary Heart Team to offer cutting edge treatment modalities, including onward referral for cardiac surgery or minimally invasive options.
To date I have performed more than 2,000 coronary angioplasty procedures using intracoronary imaging technology to better understand coronary anatomy, the disease process and guide/optimise coronary stenting procedures.
I am also very well versed in the invasive functional assessment of coronary artery disease and the use of physiological parameters to guide treatment.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Tom Snow at Spire include:
