"Spire provides the highest level of medical care. I'm really impressed by the friendly environment and modern equipment. The dedicated staff go the extra mile to provide the best possible care."
My work as a Consultant Neurologist covers all aspects of neurology. I run general clinics seeing patients with headache, neuropathy, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. My movement disorder clinic attracts patients with Parkinson disease and other neurological conditions affecting mobility.
I provide treatment with botulinum toxin for dystonia (a range of movement disorders that cause muscle spasms and contractions). My practice focuses on consultations and pharmacological treatment. I perform diagnostic lumbar punctures.
I am a member of Parkinson Disease Steering committee at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) which supervises the treatment and care of patient with Parkinson disease in our region. I am a member of the Drugs, Therapeutics and Medicines Management Committee at NNUH as well.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also proud to be an honorary lecturer at the University of East Anglia. I am a clinical supervisor to junior doctors and registrars at the Norfolk Norwich University Hospital.
I am a honorary consultant neurologist at James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth running a botulinum toxin clinic once a month there. I am active in the research activities of our neurology department participating in trials with Parkinson disease. I participate in clinical research performed at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (Parkinson disease).
I undertook my undergraduate training at University Palacky at Olomouc, Czech Republic and qualified as a doctor at 1995. I continued my postgraduate training in liaison with the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Institute of Postgradute Education. I passed my first Board Examination on Neurology in 1998 and the second Board Examination in 2009 and qualified as Consultant Neurologist. My primary interest in neurology are movement disorders including Parkinson disease, Parkinson plus syndromes, tremor, dystonia, Huntington disease and similar conditions and cognitive neurology.

I am research active in the topic of movement disorders, currently investigator in the PD STAT trial (statins in the treatment of Parkinson disease). I am generally interested in the treatment of movement disorders. The new trial with immunotherapy for Parkinson disease is in preparation. This is a completely new concept of treatment of this neurodegenerative disease and that is why I am so excited about it. I am preparing a study with new COMT inhibitor opicapone in treatment of Parkinson disease focusing on safety and efficacy in elderly population.

I do my best to keep a healthy life style, I go running and visit the gym regularly. I love travelling and enjoy exploring new countries and cities with my partner. As a newcomer, I am still dazzled by the beauty of British historical cities, villages and countryside.
